One of the most interesting and exciting aspect of college
football is the rivalry. The intensity is felt by players and fans alike and
whichever team comes out on top usually earn their bragging rights. Missouri
Tigers and their rivals go way back. Some of these rivalries have only been
quelled since the teams moved to SEC (Southeastern) and the Big Ten Conference.
In the annual Border Wars, the Missouri Tigers compete against The Kansas
Jayhawks. This is one of the biggest
competitions in the history of college sport. Nebraska is another great rival
and the football series between these two teams was another great football competition
to look forward to. Oklahoma State is another fierce competitor and has matched
skills with Missouri Tigers on many occasions. These two teams compete for what
is called the Tiger-Sooner Peace Pipe. The trophy itself is presented in a ceremony
where they smoke the actual pipe. Another rival worthy of mentioning is Iowa
State where the Telephone trophy is presented to whoever of the two wins the
game.
